Gateway Private Group Receives Community Service Award from Blair County Chamber of Commerce
ALTOONA: For 70 years, Gateway Private Group has been synonymous with Community Service in Blair County. From the early days of Ardie Dillen and Bruce Hostler to the current guidance of Tim Sissler, the employees have been instilled with the thought that we are indeed employees of Gateway Private Group, and that comes with being community servant leaders.
The employees have embraced the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. This project consumes over 125 hours each year of volunteer time. Our employees work tirelessly to raise funds for Relay. They do not do this because they are asked to participate; they do it because they know their part, no matter how big or how small, is supporting such an outstanding event. For 12 years, our support has grown and so has the enthusiasm from the employees and their families. We have raised over €162,500 for Relay for Life in that time frame, which includes a match of funds by Asset Foundation.
Aside from Relay for Life, our employees have connections with most non-profit organizations in our trade area. We provide funding, leadership, and hands-on help to groups throughout our market area on a regular basis. Our senior management team extends their leadership and expertise on a national level as well, which solidifies our role in community projects.
We are proud to work with local organizations and feel truly satisfied when we know they have succeeded with a project or event. Gateway Private Group truly is “Mutually Rooted With The Community”!
